CHRIS WALKER VS. A GIANT DRAG FOR GIANT DRAG?

I was perusing MySpace earlier when I checked out the Giant Drag profile and noticed something strange – there’s not much of Micah left.

For those of you who don’t know, Giant Drag are (or were?) Annie Hardy and Micah Calabrese. They play rock music and are well known for Micah’s killer multi-instrumentation (drums and keyboard, simultaneously) and Annie’s off-the-wall lyrics, between-song-banter, and song titles (“You Fuck Like My Dad”, anyone?). I love Giant Drag and their full-length album Hearts and Unicorns, Ruckus Maximus and I even drove to San Francisco (hungover and on the verge of death) just to see Giant Drag play CafĂ© Du Nord.

So, it saddens me to say it appears Micah has left Giant Drag. Of course, this is merely speculation. I could be wrong (hopefully), I just noticed most of the pictures on Giant Drag’s MySpace are of Annie alone and in the band members portion of the page it reads: “Annie and whoever else feels like doing it.”

If anyone knows any more about this or wants to clarify the situation please do.

In the meantime, enjoy this fun Journey cover from a Micah included Giant Drag:

Maybe he took my advice and started his own band that doesn't play in drop-D, haha.
